The band recently competed at the Wychavon Festival of Brass, on Saturday 29 October.
A long-term supporter of the event, the BTM Band participated this year in Section 1 & Championship Section (as bands are allowed to enter in the section above their current National Grading).
The band chose to perform the following works:
Laudes Domini (Gordon)
Live and Let Die (McCartney/McCartney arr. Farr) - Soprano Cornet Soloist Clint Miller
I Know Thou Art Mine (Ballantine)
Neapolitan Scenes (Massenet arr. Newsome)
La Mer -Beyond The Sea (Trenet/Lasry arr. Harper)
Both performances went well, although the Section 1 performance contained some unforced errors and intonation issues.
The band eventually came sixth out of 15 in a strong Section 1 field, and 14th out of 20 in the Championship Section.
