The BTM Band
Formed in 1972 by brass-teacher Cynan Jones, the band is named after the three villages around which it is based; Bedwas, Trethomas and Machen. BTM first competed in 1975 at the Welsh Regional Championships, earning a credible 5th place. Since these humble beginnings, BTM has risen through the ranks to become one of the most famous names in Welsh banding. Find out more about our unique history
In recent years, the band has continued it's strong tradition of showmanship with numerous televised performances, including S4C's 'Band Cymru' competition (winning their semi-final in 2016, and reaching the finals to compete against Cory in 2018). Recently the band also returned to the stage of the National Eisteddfod after a 20-year hiatus, earning a very respectable 2nd place. Visit our blog for latest news
