The BTM Band has welcomed a host of new & old faces back to the bandroom, as it continues to build towards the defence of their Section 1 title at the Welsh Regional Championships (National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain) in a few weeks’ time.
Firstly, the band would like to welcome three new faces to the band: Jennifer Lane on the front row, Evan Smith on 2nd Euphonium and Henry Hart on BBb Bass.
Secondly, many familiar faces have either returned or joined on a more permanent basis.
Owain Hughes comes back on repiano cornet, with Karen Cartlidge returning on 2nd Cornet. Barrie John re-joins on Solo Trombone, and the bass trombone seat will be filled by Nick Jones. Megan Holly & Alun Hathaway return to the percussion team.
Finally, Lloyd Barnaby changes seats (from 2nd Euphonium to Solo Baritone).
Commenting on these changes, BTM’s MD and Chairman Jeff Hutcherson commented: “It’s great to see the influx of returning players - all of whom have history at BTM. Added to this it’s great to welcome new blood with Jenny, Evan and Henry solidifying their sections. A special mention to the team players within band who have recently shuffled seats, ultimately strengthening the band”.
